MITCHELL – Former Dakota Wesleyan and Mitchell High basketball star Scott Morgan has been named to the NAIA Hall of Fame.
Morgan was a two-time NAIA Division II National Player of the Year in 1992 and 1993. He is second in DWU program history with 2,810 career points. Only Alan Miller had more with 2,920. In one game during the 1991-92 season, Morgan scored 57 points, which remains the record in South Dakota collegiate history. He averaged 30.6 points per game that season to lead the nation.
Morgan, who is also in the South Dakota Basketball Hall of Fame and the DWU Hall of Fame, led Mitchell to three state tournament appearances, including one runner-up finish, from his sophomore through senior seasons.
Morgan will be officially inducted next March during the NAIA National Basketball Championship in Kansas City, Missouri.
