SIOUX FALLS – Coming home didn’t help the Sioux Falls Canaries.
In Game 3 of the American Association Championship Series, the Milwaukee Milkmen broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the seventh and defeated Sioux Falls 10-5 to take a three-games-to-none lead in the best-of-seven series. A squeeze play scored the first run of the pivotal inning for Milwaukee. In the eighth, Zach Nehrir hit his third homer in as many games in the series.
Clint Coulter hit a tying two-run homer in the sixth and drove in three for the Canaries.
Milwaukee will try to claim the championship in Game 4 Wednesday night at Sioux Falls Stadium. A Sioux Falls win would force a fifth game on the Canaries’ home field on Thursday.
