The Hughes County Commission and the Fort Pierre City Council each meet this (Mon.) evening.
The Hughes County Commission meeting begins at 5:30pm at the Hughes County Courthouse in Pierre. Among the items on their agenda are:
- recognition of Linda Lafrenz for 30 years of service to Hugh County
- a 5:30pm public hearing for the 2021–2025 Hughes County Highway and Bridge Improvement Transportation Plan
- approve a plat and rezone for a section of land so East River Electric can build a substation north of Pierre
- approval of the 2021 county budget

The Fort Pierre City Council meets this evening at 6:30pm in the South Dakota Municipal League building (208 Island Drive). Items on their agenda include:
- reports from the mayor and city department heads
- approve a temporary liquor license for the Stanley County Fairgrounds during the horse racing events Oct. 3-4
- final reading and approval of the general fund budget
