Georgia Morse Middle School and T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre and the Stanley County School District in Fort Pierre have received a donation of face masks from the local American Bank & Trust branch.
The schools received 150, 500 and 400 masks, respectively.
Kevin Petoske with American Bank & Trust says the bank purchased 10,000 masks to donate to school districts participating in the bank’s Spirit Card program. He says the donated masks are double layered with a pocket to hold more layers if the wearer wants additional protection. The masks are washable with adjustable straps to make them user friendly for adults and children. Petoske says they ordered three unique designs to make them fun to wear.
The Pierre School District currently “strongly recommends” students and staff wear masks in classes where social distancing cannot be maintained. The Stanley County School District will require masks be worn where social distancing cannot be maintained.
