SIOUX FALLS – Pierre Governor soccer had losses in their next-to-last regular season matches on Monday against Roosevelt.
The Governor boys fell 1-0. Pierre goalkeeper Cam Ahartz made several big saves, including stopping a penalty kick in the first half, but Roosevelt scored in the second half and the Governors managed only five shots. Pierre is now 3-5-2.
Roosevelt beat the Governors in the girls’ varsity match 3-1, dropping Pierre to 2-7-1.
Both Pierre teams will close the regular season with Tuesday matches against Yankton at the Pierre Indian Learning Center Soccer Complex. The girls’ varsity match will be at 4:00, with the boys playing at 6:00.
