South Dakota corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2020, totaled 114 million bushels, down 12% from 2019, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 57.0 million bushels are stored on farms, down 16% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 56.8 million bushels, are down 7% from last year.
Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 42.5 million bushels, down 27% from last year. On-farm stocks are 13.0 million bushels, down 50% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 29.5 million bushels, are down 9% from 2019.
All wheat stored in all positions totaled 85.8 million bushels, up 4% from a year ago. On-farm stocks of 42.0 million bushels are down 2% from 2019, but off-farm stocks of 43.8 million bushels are up 11% from last year.
Oats stored in all positions totaled 11.5 million bushels, up 106% from last year. On-farm stocks of 8.90 million bushels are up 102% from 2019. Off-farm stocks of 2.63 million bushels are up 121% from last year.
Barley on-farm stocks totaled 480,000 bushels, up 78% from last year.
