October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
This year’s theme is “Increasing Access and Opportunity.”
South Dakota Department of Human Services Secretary Shawnie Rechtenbaugh says through DEAM, the state aims to raise awareness about disability employment issues and to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities. She says this month, a number of agencies and organizations in the state will engage in activities to promote awareness of these issues and to help foster a disability-friendly culture in the workplace.
