HURON – Pierre boys cross country had its best showing of the season Thursday, finishing second to Aberdeen Central at the Roger Loecker Cross Country Invitational at Broadlund Creek Golf Course. Pierre scored 43 points, second only to Central’s 21. Hayden Shaffer was fourth individually, with Blake Judson seventh, Jared Lutmer ninth, Mason Dell 12th and Bradyn Brother of All 14th. Other finishers were Brady Gere 15th, Riley Pfeifer 23rd, Haeden Wheelhouse 24th, Isaac Polak 26th, Blake Jones 29th and Levi McKinley 32nd.
The Governor girls were also second, among three teams. Jessica Lutmer ran second individually. BreAnna Lowery was 11th, Jazzlyn Rombough was 16th, Rachael Nemec 20th, and Trysta Johnson 29th.
Pierre’s cross country season will culminate with the state AA meet on Saturday, October 24 at the Hart Ranch Camping Resort in Rapid City.
