Beginning, Nov. 2, Rawlins Municipal Library will again offer contact-free service.
“During the early stages of the pandemic, we offered curbside service because we weren’t allowing walk-in traffic,” said Robin Schrupp, Rawlins Library Director. “When we opened our doors back up, we backed off our contact-free services.”
“Our patrons have told us they appreciated curbside service, and they want it back.”
Here’s how library staff is meeting that demand.
- Patrons who want library materials, but don’t want to enter the library should reserve items either online or by emailing the library before 11 a.m. Requests received after 11 a.m. will be fulfilled the following business day.
- Reserved items will be put in a bag labeled with the patron’s name and placed on a cart in front of the main library entrance.
- Patrons can pick up reserved items between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no curbside service on weekends, holidays, or during inclement weather.
- Reservations are limited to 10 items per day. Materials not picked up within three business days will be put back on the shelf
Schrupp adds that material delivery to the homebound remains available.
Rawlins Library loans an average of more than 1,500 materials each week.
