Yesterday’s (Oct. 26) COVID-19 case update from the Pierre School District shows six active cases among students and eight active cases in staff in the district.

The Pierre School District “strongly recommends” students and staff wear masks at school anywhere social distancing cannot be maintained. The district changed its policy in September to require Pierre students at all grade levels to wear masks at all extra-curricular activities. Parents and fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks at events. Those attending extra curricular activities at Hollister Field or in the high school gym should sit in every other row, meaning do not sit on any bleachers marked with tape.
