Pierre residents must have all trailers, campers and boats moved off of city streets by November 2, 2020.
The Pierre Police Department will begin by issuing warning notices to any such vehicles parked on city streets after Nov. 2. If still not in compliance, trailers, campers or boats will be ticketed and towed.
Having those vehicles not parked on Pierre streets helps with future snow removal efforts by allowing plows to work from curb to curb.

The City of Fort Pierre reminds residents they need to move all types of boats, campers and recreational vehicles off of public roadways for the winter.
City ordinance (N-4-8.1) says boats, campers and RVs are not permitted to park on any portion of the public right of way for a continuous period of more than 24 hours from Nov. 15-March 15 each year. Violators will be fined $25 plus the actual cost of removal and towing, if the vehicle has not been removed within 24 hours of receiving a citation.
As a reminder, Fort Pierre ordinance (N-4-5) also says “there shall be no parking on the emergency snow routes when there is more than two (2) inches of snowfall until the said routes have been cleared to the edges of the street.” Any vehicle in direct violation will be fined $50 plus the actual cost of removal and towing if not moved within 24 hours of receiving a citation.
If you have any questions regarding the parking restrictions or snow route designations, please contact the Fort Pierre City Office at 605-223-7690.
