A 30 year old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash three miles west of Kimball Thursday night (10:55pm).
Information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer was eastbound on Interstate 90 when it was struck by a 2014 Toyota 4 Runner SUV that was westbound in the eastbound lanes.
The male driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The 60-year-old male driver of the semi-truck, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Chamberlain hospital. Names have not yet been released.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
