HURON – The Oahe Capital boys scored the first five goals Sunday on their way to an 8-2 rout of the Huron All-Stars at Bergman Arena to improve to 2-0. Andrew Gordon recorded a hat trick and set up another goal. Elliot Leif scored twice for the second time in as many games.
Gordon scored his first just 69 seconds into the game. A Cord Ellis goal made it 2-0 Capitals just two and a half minutes later. Gordon scored again with 5:46 left in the first period, then with just over seven minutes gone in the third period. Cord Ellis, Dre Berndt and Raef Briggs also scored for Oahe, with Briggs’ goal coming on the power play.
In his first game of the season in goal, Kieran Duffy stopped 34 of 36 Huron shots.
