Beginning Jan. 2, the Rawlins Municipal Library will open its doors a little more.
The Library is adjusting its weekday schedule and adding to its weekend hours. According to Library Director Robin Schrupp, the changes are all to better accommodate customer traffic.
“We have found that by 10 a.m., we have people waiting outside to get in,” said Schrupp. “There’s no sense making them wait, we’ll just open our doors an hour earlier.”
On the back end, it means the library will also close its doors a little sooner in the evening. In the new year, the library will close at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. on most week nights.
“We have found that our late evening traffic is pretty light,” said Schrupp. “And with the expansion of our weekend hours, I’m confident patrons will have plenty of options for using the library.”
The new library hours are as follows:
- Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Sunday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Until 2021, the library will operate under its existing schedule.
- Monday – Thursday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Rawlins Library is closed on Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year holiday.
