CHAMBERLAIN – Pierre Governor wrestling won the 3A regional tournament Saturday at the Chamberlain Armory and all 14 Governor wrestlers secured berths in the Class A State Tournament, which will begin Thursday in Rapid City.
Pierre finished with 249 points, with Mitchell second at 225. Chamberlain took third with 163 points.
Noah Williams, Kahlor Hindman, Hayden Shaffer and Regan Bollweg all took individual titles.

Coverage of state wrestling will begin Thursday, with Brian Oakland providing regular reports on individual action starting in the 11:00 AM hour Thursday, Friday and Saturday on 1060/107.1 KGFX. Also, there will be live play-by-play of the Governors’ matches in the Class A dual tournament. Pierre will meet Mitchell on Thursday at 4:30 CT, with the semifinal match to follow at 6:30 CT if the Governors can defeat the Kernels. On Saturday, full play-by-play of all championship matches in Classes A and B will begin at 6:00 CT.
