FORT PIERRE – The Philip Scotties controlled the 4B regional wrestling tournament Saturday at Parkview Auditorium. Philip had 302 points, with Custer second at 196. Lyman was third with 120. Mobridge-Pollock scored 100 and finished fourth. Stanley County was seventh with 81.5 points.
12 of 13 Philip wrestlers finished in the top four and earned state tournament berths. Kipp Cordes, Jace Blasius, Ryker Peterson, Jadyn Collier, Thane Simons, Blair Blasius, McCoy Peterson, Burke Blasius, Jesse Hostutler and Cody Donnelly all won individual championships. Other Scotties at state will be Gage Ravellette and Parker Snyder. The lone Philip wrestler to not qualify, Lincoln Koehn, will be an alternate.
Stanley County will have three wrestlers compete at state: 113-pounder Chase Hanson, who was the runner-up in his weight class, Levi Stover, who was fourth at 160 pounds, and Dylan Endres, who finished third at 285. Trey Frost was fifth at 132 pounds and will be an alternate at state.
Five Lyman wrestlers will go to the state tournament. Gunner Johnson and Demery Hood each had second-place finishes for the Raiders. Also wrestling at state will be Shilo Mowry, Tance Wagner and Rory McManus. Kellen Griffith is an alternate.
