The Capital Area United Way reminds parents of children ages birth through 4 years old living in Hughes or Stanley counties, they are able to receive a free book each month from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Connie and Gary Grittner of Fort Pierre sponsor the Capital Area United Way’s Imagination Library program. Their annual donation ensures an average of 515 children in Hughes and Stanley counties receive free books each month. Each book received is age appropriate.
Dolly created the book gifting program in 1995 as a tribute to her father, who wasn’t able to read. Now, 26 years later, Imagination Library has expanded across the nation and around the world, sending out over a million books each month.
Parents interested in enrolling their children in Imagination Library may do so by visiting CapAreaUnitedWay.org/ImaginationLibrary and completing the online form. Children are eligible until their fifth birthday.
