SIOUX FALLS – Sioux Falls Roosevelt cooled off Pierre Governor Baseball Friday, sweeping a doubleheader 5-2 and 7-0 at Harmondon Park. Pierre had lost only two of their first 12 games before Friday.
Roosevelt broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning by scoring three runs on a balk and two wild pitches. Jayden Wiebe had a first-inning sacrifice fly and Maguire Raske hit an RBI single in the sixth for the Governor runs. Lincoln Kienholz started and struck out six in four innings.
Pierre (10-4) managed just two hits, singles by Andy Gordon and Elliot Leif, in the second game. Jamie Legg and Mitch Willis drove in two runs each for the Rough Riders.
