Twenty new license renewal kiosks have been placed throughout South Dakota and they’re now offering more services.
Previously, the state Department of Revenue’s DMV Now License Renewal Kiosks were fully automated motor vehicle registration renewal stations that dispensed license renewal tags on the spot. At the new kiosks, people are also able to update contact information and mailing addresses.
For all transactions, have your South Dakota Driver’s License or ID Card. To renew your vehicle license plate tags, bring a credit or debit card to make your payment because the new kiosks do not have check readers so ACH payments cannot be accepted.
The state Department of Revenue is making additional changes so customers will soon be able to report vehicles sold, print a seller’s permit or renew their driver license at the new kiosks. More information will be available once the process is worked out.
In Pierre, there’s a DMV Now License Renewal Kiosk in Dakotamart.
