HURON – Shelly Buddenhagen has resigned as Huron Tigers’ volleyball head coach.
Buddenhagen was in her second stint in that position, which lasted 12 seasons. In all of those years, Huron made the state tournament, constituting the longest current streak in AA. The Tigers made the state championship match in 2020, losing to O’Gorman.
In her first segment as head coach, Buddenhagen led Huron to consecutive state championships in 1998 and ’99. She also coached the Tigers to three third-place finishes and one in fourth place.
In total, Buddenhagen recorded 353 wins in 19 seasons.
