A task force that is preparing a report on the operations of South Dakota public universities will hold its fifth meeting this week in Brookings.
The Senate Bill 55 Task Force will meet Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Alumni Center on the South Dakota State University campus. As it works toward preparing a final report this fall, the 20-member task force will spend most of its time on detailed tasks involving academics, administration, and infrastructure topics.
The task force was created after a 2020 law directed a study of the operations and functions of higher education institutions governed by the South Dakota Board of Regents. Findings are to be shared with the Legislature and Gov. Kristi Noem no later than Nov. 15.
The Senate Bill 55 Task Force convenes Thursday, June 3, at 8:30 a.m. (CDT) and will immediately dissolve into subcommittee work. Subcommittees will report out to the full task force at about 11 a.m. The public may access a livestream link through the task force agenda.
