The South Dakota Legislature’s Workforce Housing Needs Interim Study Committee will hold their first meeting tomorrow (June 9) at 10am (CT) at the State Capitol in Pierre.
District 24 Rep. Mike Weisgram (R-Fort Pierre) is a member of the committee.
The group will:
- review the 2017 Housing Study;
- discuss housing concerns attracting growth;
- receive information on public housing financing;
- and hear from several housing-related organizations.
The meeting is being held in Room 414 and will also be available via electronic conference. The agenda is available online.
The Workforce Housing Needs in SD Interim Study Committee is chaired by Rep. Roger Chase (R-Huron). Senator Casey Crabtree (R-Madison) is vice chair. Along with Weisgram, other committee members include Representatives Hugh Bartels (R-Watertown), Fred Deutsch (R-Florence), Mary Fitzgerald (R-Spearfish), Tim Goodwin (R-Rapid City), Jennifer Keintz (D-Eden), Lance Koth (R-Mitchell), John Mills (R-Volga), Scott Odenbach (R-Spearfish), Lynn Schneider (R-Huron), Jamie Smith (D-Sioux Falls) and Senators Michael Diedrich (R-Rapid City), Red Dawn Foster (D-Pine Ridge), Jack Kolbeck (R-Sioux Falls), Herman Otten (R-Lennox), David Wheeler (R-Huron), and Larry Zikmund (R-Sioux Falls).
