While many of us have been hugging our air conditioners the past few days, around 200 bicyclists have been pedaling from Pollock to Pierre for the first two legs of the RASDak 2021 The Best Dam Ride.
The 460 mile ride started Sunday in Pollock and will finish Saturday in Vermillion. Today’s (June 9) leg of the trip takes the riders the 82 miles from Pierre to Chamberlain. Previous days’ overnight stops were in Mobridge and Gettysburg.
This year’s RASDak showcases the Oahe, Big Bend, Fort Randall and Gavins Point dams along the Missouri River. RASDak cyclists range in age from 16 to 78 years, with the average being 59.
The ride will conclude with a Finish Line Celebration in Vermillion June 12. Daily route information is available on the RASDak website.
