RAPID CITY – Post 8 split a Legion baseball doubleheader with Post 22 Wednesday at Fitzgerald Stadium, taking the first game 9-8, then falling in the nightcap 2-1 to end the Eights’ eight-game winning streak.
Post 8 was down 3-0 after one inning in the opener but rallied for two runs in the third and four in the fourth. Andy Gordon had the go-ahead RBI single in the fourth inning and drove in two runs, as did Bennett Dean and Aaron Booth. Jayden Wiebe was the winning pitcher and Jack Van Camp earned the save.
Van Camp allowed just five hits in five innings in the second game, but lost as Post 22 scored their two runs in the third inning. Post 8 (10-6) scored in the first inning on a passed ball.
