MINOT, ND – After the Pierre Trappers held a 4-1 lead, then a 5-4 lead in the 10th inning, Souris Valley scored two in the bottom of the 10th Thursday to hand Pierre a frustrating 6-5 loss at Corbett Field.
Patrick Connor’s RBI single in the top of the 10th had given the Trappers (9-21) a 5-4 lead. But, in the bottom of the 10th, Joseph Bramanti committed a balk to tie the game. Gunnar Magrann followed with an RBI single to win the game for the Sabre Dogs and complete the three-game sweep.
Brendon Perez put Pierre in front 2-0 in the second inning with a two-run homer. The Trappers led 4-1 before Souris Valley scored a run in the bottom of the eighth and two to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.
