Want to live longer? Walk faster. Researchers in the UK collected data from nearly 475,000 people, measuring factors like their walking habits, body mass index, waist circumference and body fat percentage. People who reported a brisk walking pace lived longer across all body types; those who reported slower walking paces had a shorter life expectancy. A brisk walking pace is about 3 miles per hour, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
