GRAND FORKS, ND – An eight-run first inning started the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks on their way to a 13-7 win over the Pierre Trappers Saturday at Kraft Field.
Wheat City had just three hits in the big first inning, which was capped by a three-run home run by Garrett Olson. Trappers’ starter Mason Torve (1-3) faced seven batters and retired none, allowing seven runs, two hits and five walks.
Tyler Skelton drove in two runs for the Trappers (13-32). Nick Strong had three hits.
