Three members of the Fort Pierre Volunteer Fire Department have gone west to help fight a wildfire in Washington state.
Assistant chief Tye Odden says with all the wildfires burning, they were activated quickly once they said they were available.
He says they’ll be at the fire site for two weeks.
Odden says they don’t have to bring a lot of extra equipment with them.
All three firefighters have previous experience on this type of asssignment.
