The U.S. snagged NINE more medals at the Tokyo Olympics, and four were gold.
Skeet shooters Amber English and Vincent Hancock won two of those golds . . . and the men’s swim team won the 4-by-100-meter freestyle relay. Meanwhile, Katie Ledecky was hoping for gold in the women’s 400-meter freestyle, but had to settle for silver. Ariarne Titmus of Australia beat her by less than a second. But 17-year-old Lydia Jacoby won gold in the 100-meter breaststroke. She’s the first ever Olympic swimmer from Alaska.
The U.S. is now tied with China in the overall medal count. Here’s where things stand heading into today . . .
1. USA: 19 . . . 8 gold, 3 silver, 8 bronze.
