Nine members of the Pierre Volunteer Fire Department’s Rescue Squad spent the weekend in the classroom and in the water learning current techniques in rescue and recovery.
Dive captain Barry McLaury says they worked through situations that could happen so they are better prepared if they do happen.
McLaury says the training was in addition to other certifications the team members have already earned.
