PIERRE – Baseball can be many things, including quite fickle.
One night after the Pierre Trappers scored a season-high 20 runs, they were shut out twice by the Western Nebraska Pioneers, who swept a doubleheader at Hyde Stadium 9-0 and 6-0.
The Trappers were held to just five hits total in the two games, two in the first game and three in the second. Jake English doubled twice and drove in three runs in the first game for Western Nebraska. In the nightcap, Jonathan Cymrot had an RBI double and a bases-loaded walk.
