Acting United States Attorney for South Dakota Dennis R. Holmes says a Questa, New Mexico, woman convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance has been sentenced in federal court.
Holly Swallow, age 42, was given 54 months in federal prison, five years of supervised release, a $1,000 fine, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims fund in the amount of $100.
Court information says between 2016 and 2019, in the states of South Dakota, New Mexico and Colorado, Swallow intentionally conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine. She supplied between 500 grams and 1,500 grams of the drug to individuals on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
The investigation was conducted by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook prosecuted the case.
Swallow was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
