PIERRE – In the start of their final homestand of the season, the Pierre Trappers lost 3-1 to the Spearfish Sasquatch Monday at Hyde Stadium.
Kaiden Cardoso gave the Trappers an early lead with a first inning solo home run, his sixth of the season. Then, Spearfish, fighting to stay on top of the Clark Division, scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Nathan June (0-2) lost despite striking out eight and giving up just five hits in eight innings.
Spearfish leads Fremont by one game and Western Nebraska by a game and a half for the division lead.
