We picked up more medals in track-and-field yesterday, including a gold from Ryan Crouser and silver from Joe Kovacs in shot put. Nevin Harrison also picked up a gold in the women’s 200-meter canoe sprint. Our female athletes have been crushing it this year. Last we checked, they’d won twice as many medals as the men, and more gold too.
The U.S. also took silver and bronze in the men’s 200 meters . . . another silver in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase . . . and a bronze in women’s boxing. Here’s the latest medal count we saw.
1. USA: 83 . . . 27 gold, 33 silver, 23 bronze.
2. China: 71 . . . 32 gold, 23 silver, 16 bronze.
3. Russia: 53 . . . 14 gold, 21 silver, 18 bronze.
