Pilot of small plane killed in North Dakota crash

STRASBURG, N.D. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials say a small airplane spraying crops struck a high voltage transmission line and has crashed in south central North Dakota, killing the pilot. The North Dakota Highway Patrols says the single-engine plane went down in a field near Strasburg in Emmons County about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Western Area Power Administration line was severed. The National Transportation Safety Board tweeted earlier that the plane was a Rockwell International S-2R, a fixed wing aircraft. The NTSB, Federal Aviation Administration and Emmons County deputies are investigating.
