Work will begin tomorrow (Aug. 13) on an asphalt resurfacing project on US Highway 14 east of Pierre.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the affected stretch of highway is from approximately Highway 1804 to one mile west of the junction of US Highways 14 and 83 (mile markers 230 to 245).
During the operation on the four-lane section, traffic will be carried through the work zone with the use of lane closures. The use of flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic east of Pierre. Motorists can expect delays during these times.
The contractor anticipates completing all operations for this $4.2 million project, including the asphalt paving, by mid-September. The overall project completion date is July of next year (July 29, 2022).
