WATERTOWN – Solid attacking and good play at the net led the Pierre Governors to a season-opening volleyball win over the Watertown Arrows Tuesday at the Civic Arena, 25-11, 19-25, 25-8, 25-22, giving Tiffany Stoeser victory in her head coaching debut.
Ayvrie Kaiser, hitting seemingly from all angles, led the match with 21 kills. Reese Terwilliger had eight kills. Lily Sanchez served three aces. Libero Addie Cumbow passed ahead well consistently and even contributed a kill.
Pierre broke a six-match losing streak to Watertown, beating the Arrows for the first time since October 8, 2016 and for the first time at the Watertown Civic Arena since September 5, 2015.
