The 22nd annual Value Added Agriculture Development Center Day kicks off the South Dakota State Fair today in Huron (Sept. 2, 2021, from 9am-3:30pm).
The VAADC helps producers enhance their profit stream by processing and marketing the products they grow. About 20 vendors, many which were developed with support from the VAADC, will have products and information on display in the Day Sponsor tent (located near the Expo Building). Additional exhibitors are members of the SD Specialty Producers Association, which provides producers of specialty foods and products with education, promotion and connections.
The event highlights local food and innovative products– including produce, poultry, meats, spirits and wool and more– being made in South Dakota. There will also be presentations on various local food, farmer market and agritourism topics and the annual Ice Cream Social brought to you in cooperation with Your South Dakota Dairy Producers.
The Day Sponsor Tent presentation schedule is as follows:
-
9:30 a.m.: Connecting to Local Food Through CSA
-
10:30 a.m.: Selling Your Products as a Food Entrepreneur
