At Tuesday night’s (Sept. 14th) meeting of the Mobridge City Council, Tanner Jerome, Interim Director of the Mobridge Chamber of Commerce, addressed the council during public forum about their concerns and about the direction of the Chamber moving forward.
For the Police Department, the council approved the hiring of Officer Justin Jungwirth as a full time officer.
Water and Waste Water Superintendent Kurt Schmaltz asked for and was given approval for a watewater pump and install, and new hire Nathan Shillingstad at the water plant.
The second reading of Ordinance 997, an update on Zoning Ordinance 19.03 was approved, as was the second reading of the 2022 Appropriations Ordinance. Finance Officer Heather Beck commented on that ordinance.
Pay Request Number One to B&B Contracting for the airport rehab project was approved. Beck also had an update for the public on the project.
Also at the meeting, the council approved an increase in the library expense budget of $15,000 for a grant received.
Resolution 21-09, setting fees for sanitary sewer rates, was also approved. Mayor Gene Cox read the details.
