MADISON – Dakota Munger of Chamberlain finished tied for eighth in individual honors at the SDHSAA Class A Boys State Golf Championship, which concluded Tuesday at Madison Country Club.
Munger followed up an 80 on Monday with an 82 on Tuesday.
As a team, the Cubs finished eighth of 12 teams with 746. Sandler Wiekamp shot 185 (91-94), with Cannon Speer shooting 188 (92-96), Eric Strande shooting 217 (109-108) and London Houska firing 217 (103-114).
Winner was ninth with 759. Ryder Halligan led the Warriors with 183 (92-91), followed by Karson Keiser with a 188 (91-97), Landon Calhoon’s 188 (89-99) and Kaden Keiser’s 191 (91-100). Maxton Brozik shot 208 (108-100).
Tea Area won the team competition with 669, five shots ahead of West Central. This is the Titans’ third state championship, all since 2016.
The individual winner was Sioux Falls Christian’s Kaleb Jost with 155 (77-78). He was two shots ahead of Mason Carrels of Aberdeen Roncalli.
