Neil Dierks, chief executive officer of the National Pork Producers Council, has been selected to receive the U.S. Meat Export Federation’s Distinguished Service Award. Created in 1991, the award honors outstanding figures who exemplify the exceptional dedication responsible for the red meat industry’s success in building global demand for U.S. pork, beef and lamb. It will be presented Nov. 11 at the USMEF Strategic Planning Conference in Carlsbad, Calif.
Dierks has a lengthy history of working to expand global demand for U.S. pork. He and his NPPC team have bolstered pork exports by helping secure market access improvements in key destinations such as Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Central and South America, the Dominican Republic and Oceania, where free trade agreements eliminated or reduced both tariff and non-tariff trade barriers.
