All layers in South Dakota during September 2021 totaled 2.09 million, down from 2.68 million the previous year, according to the USDA’s
National Agricultural Statistics Service.

South Dakota egg production during September 2021 totaled 53.7 million eggs, down from 69.7 million in 2020. September egg production per 100 layers was 2,564 eggs, compared to 2,599 eggs in 2020.
