ASHLEY, ND – For the second time this season, Pierre Governor Girls Wrestling captured an in-season tournament Saturday, winning the first annual Girls’ Border Brawl.
Pierre scored 227 points, easily outdistancing Central Cass’ 138.
Gianna Stangeland won at 135 pounds, defeating Jazlyn Weigel of Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter by pinfall in the first-place match.
Abbi Lewis won at 145, pinning Gracia Rolf of Lisbon for first place.
Ciara McFarling won the 250-pound weight class, pinning Gracie Hoffman of South Border in the title match.
Also for Pierre, Shaylee Speck was second at 100 pounds, Sydney Uhrig was second at 105, Dani Ringstmeyer was second at 120, Ireland Templeton was second at 155, Mylie Taylor was second at 170, Kezrey Benning was third at 125, Emalee Larson was third at 170, Hattie Baldwin was fourth at 130, Mackenna Metzinger was seventh at 140, Nevaeh Baade was eighth at 110, and Londyn Allen-Hunsaker was ninth at 100.
Pierre will wrestle in a dual at Bismarck on January 6.
