Do you know a person or organization who is a leader in agricultural safety, either through training, collaboration, promotion, education or research? The Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America seeks nominations for 11 categories of safety awards to be presented next March at the North American Agricultural Safety Summit in Las Vegas, Nev. Honorees will receive complementary registration to the Summit and one recipient will receive the WCF “Collaboration in Research to Practice” award which comes with $2,500 in cash. Nomination deadline is Dec. 30, 2021. For details on the awards and draft agenda, go to www.ashca.org.
The Summit is scheduled for March 28-30, 2022, at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Awards will be presented March 29, 2022.
“We established these safety awards to highlight effective and efficient practices that enhance worker safety within agriculture,” said Jess McCluer, board chair of ASHCA, and vice president of safety and regulatory affairs at the National Grain and Feed Association. “The awardees represent individuals and organizations having a positive impact on the culture of safety in agriculture.”
Individuals and companies/organizations are invited to nominate individuals, collaborations, groups, or organizations they feel are deserving of recognition. Applications must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contribution to agricultural safety and health. Self-nominees will not be accepted. Once the nomination period has closed, a selection committee of experts and leaders in the field will review all nominations and select up to eight recipients.
The draft agenda features a fast-paced 1.5-day program that includes keynote speaker (invited) Carrie Castille, Ph.D., director, U.S. Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
Submission deadline for poster presentation and lighting talk abstracts is Dec. 1, 2021.
