MITCHELL – No one could stop the Oahe Capitals’ Pee Wee B team during the regular season, and that didn’t change in the state tournament.
Oahe completed a perfect 17-0 season Sunday with a 5-2 win over Sioux Falls 2 at the Mitchell Activity Center to win the SDAHA Pee Wee B state championship.
The Capitals trailed in the first period before Logan Anderson tied the game at 1-1. That score stood until the third period, when Max Schmitz snapped the tie at 9:41 and Logan Brown gave the Capitals a 3-1 lead just 1:20 later. Brylon Beck then scored on the power play at 12:49.
The Capitals had beaten Huron 18-0 in the first round on Friday and won 6-1 over Rushmore in the semifinal on Saturday.
For the season, the Capitals outscored their opponents 158-20.
