WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a sheriff’s deputy was injured during a traffic stop when her squad car was struck by a vehicle along Interstate 29 in southeastern North Dakota. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the incident occurred Tuesday (March 8, 2022) after the vehicle and the squad car were stopped in the southbound lanes of I-29. The driver of a pickup failed to move over and struck the Richland County Sheriff’s Department vehicle. The deputy was transported to a Fargo hospital with a broken arm. The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital in Breckenridge, Minnesota. The crash remains under investigation.
