Abby Edwardson is the new Director of Rawlins Municipal Library. She will officially assume the role April 1, 2022.
Edwardson has worked at Rawlins Library for seven years and currently serves as the library’s Circulation Services Coordinator. She started her work with Rawlins in 2015 as a part-time Adult Services Library Assistant. In 2019 she was promoted to Circulation Services Coordinator.
Edwardson says she’s excited to continue building on the strong program we have in Pierre. She says the team is great, and Rawlins is well positioned to try out a few new things to further enhance the Library and the services it offers.
As Director, Edwardson will serve on the City’s senior staff team directing all library department operations and administration with input from the Library Board. Rawlins Library has 21 full and part-time employees, serves an average of 2,800 patrons a month, and maintains a collection of more than 125,000 books and materials for research, entertainment, and education.
Edwardson holds a degree in Human Services and Sociology from Black Hills State University and will receive her Masters of Library Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in May.
