Another round of Feel Good Friday Stories….
1. A cat and dog are big on Instagram right now because of how bonded they are. Every time their owners take the cat to the vet, they have to bring the dog too. Otherwise, the cat freaks out.
2. A girl in Louisiana is going viral after she made her very first shot in a basketball game . . . and immediately sprinted to the sideline to hug her dad. (Here’s the video.)
3. A five-year-old named Liam Moore made the news in Canada after he decided to donate all the money in his piggy bank to help people in Ukraine. He’d saved up about 20 bucks to buy an action figure, but said he’s okay waiting a little longer for it.
4. A couple in Colorado survived an avalanche last Thursday, and thought their dog died in it. But then someone found the dog walking along a trail two nights later.
5. A library in New Zealand was supposed to be closed for a national holiday last month, but someone left the doors unlocked. So almost 400 people used the library that day, and checked out 150 books with an automated machine. But even with no workers there, zero books were stolen.
6. No matter how stressful life gets, remember to take time for the joyous moments: A soldier in Ukraine stopped his own girlfriend at a checkpoint last week . . . and surprised her with a proposal. The video isn’t in English, but you don’t need it to be.
7. A website called Preply added a feature that lets you send notes of encouragement to people in Ukraine, and it automatically translates them into Ukrainian. You can also read what other people have written. And there’s a map that shows where all the messages are coming from. People in 115 different countries have already sent notes in more than 80 different languages.
8. How’s this for a trifecta? Firefighters in Massachusetts saved a dog from a house fire the other day. Meanwhile, firefighters in Ireland saved a kitten after it got stuck on someone’s roof. And firefighters in Florida saved a bunch of ducklings that fell in a storm drain.
