The Western North Dakota Honor Flight announces their inaugural flight out of Bismarck, North Dakota, will have 93 American military veterans aboard. They are veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The flight will take veterans, arriving from across western North Dakota, to Washington D.C. to see the national memorials built in their honor.
The Honor Flight will depart on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 7:00 a.m. CDT and return on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. CDT.
As part of this trip, Western North Dakota Honor Flight volunteers will escort the veterans to Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, Korea War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the WWII Memorial.
This experience is provided at no cost to the veteran. All the funds raised for this flight have been generously donated by businesses, service organizations, fund raising events and personal donations from individuals across western North Dakota.
Western North Dakota Honor Flight is the newest of the 135 Hubs of the Honor Flight Network. Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate America’s veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials. Combined, these Hubs have taken nearly 250,000 military veterans to see the national war memorials.
Veterans from nearly every community in western North Dakota are participating in this upcoming flight. Visit westernndhf.org for more information on the inaugural flight, the organization and upcoming events.
