No fooling, these are some great Feel Good Friday stories…
1. Remember the video last week of a red truck that got tossed around by a tornado in Texas? A 16-year-old kid named Riley Leon was driving, and luckily he’s okay. Now a dealership in Fort Worth is helping him out by giving him a new truck to replace the one that got banged up.
2. A nurse in North Carolina drove to lottery headquarters last Thursday after she THOUGHT she won $600 . . . then found out she’d actually won $114,000.
3. A mother duck hatched her eggs in the courtyard of a maternity ward in Florida the other day. There’s a video of staff members leading her through the hospital and out the front door, along with ten little ducklings.
4. A dad in northern California just broke a world record by running a half-marathon in 2 hours and 19 minutes . . . while pushing all five of his quintuplets in a stroller. He’s done stroller runs before, but says this is his last. They’re four now, so it’s a lot of weight to push.
5. An elementary school in Georgia did something pretty great to support their custodian, who’s originally from Ukraine. She came to work the other day, and all the walls were covered in drawings of sunflowers, which is Ukraine’s national flower.
6. An elderly woman in Arkansas fell in a wooded area near her house last week and hurt herself. And when police showed up, her dog was waiting by the road and led them straight to her.
7. The Gary Sinise Foundation just gave another veteran a new home, mortgage-free. Retired Army Sergeant Christopher Kurtz lost his legs in Afghanistan after he was hit by an I.E.D. So the whole house is wheelchair-friendly. And bonus: Chris and his wife also celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary the same day.
8. Two Holocaust survivors recently reunited in Florida 79 years later. Their names are Jack Waksal and Sam Ron. They ran into each other at a benefit dinner for the Holocaust Memorial Museum this month. Until now, each of them never knew if the other survived. Jack said it was like finding a long-lost brother.
